INCULCATING A SENSITIVE OUTLOOK TOWARDS RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES
Education and learning is the amalgam of all the rich experiences felt and gained by the child inside the school and outside it. Keeping this philosophy of experiential learning in mind, Presidium Ashok Vihar planned a field trip for the students of grade 3. The trip was undertaken under the TBL theme ‘religious communities’, wherein the children got a chance to visit and explore four places of worship – temple, gurudwara, mosque and church and develop sensitivity towards all communities through this.
The religious fervour and unity in the students was apparent as they keenly listened to the chantings in the gurudwara, ate the prasad in the temple and respectfully sat in the church and mosque. Apart from being a great learning experience for the students, it was also an enjoyable trip for them. They enjoyed observing and visiting the different places. It was really a fulfilling experience for the children as well as the teachers.
