Friendship is the greatest gift given to us by God. It is rightly said that friends are the seeds that we sow for ourselves and when we nurture them with love, respect, trust, and honesty; it blossoms into a beautiful flower that spreads fragrance all around. In order to promote this idea that is truly believed by the Presidium team, young students celebrated Friendship Day at Ashok Vihar branch recently. The program emphasized the importance of true friendship in our lives. Students enthralled the audience with their enigmatic dance performance. The vivacious music filled everyone’s heart with delight and happiness. The day truly fulfilled the purpose of making all realize the need for a friend to cherish this beautiful relationship in life.

Friendship Day is a festival dedicated to friends. People choose to celebrate the entire day in the loving company of their dearest friends, recollecting sweet memories of the time spent together. Exchange of friendship bands is one of the most special features of Friendship Day celebrations enlivens the spirit of companionship between friends. Presidium The students of Presidium Ashok Vihar celebrated the spirit of friendship in their distinctive way by presenting exclusive friendship bands to the honourable Chairman Mr.G S Matharoo. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed presenting beautiful friendship tokens to each other. It was a joyous memorable day for the entire school.
ISHAAN JAIN BAGS A GOLD MEDAL IN INTERNATIONAL G.K OLYMPIAD
‘A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward it’s achievement’.
With this motive, another Presidian made us proud by adding one more accolade to the wall of glory of Presidium Ashok Vihar. Ishaan Jain of grade 6 recently won a gold medal at International General Knowledge Olympiad organized by SOF. Also, this young achiever received a cash prize of Rs.2500/- for his achievement. Nurturing the young minds, and giving them the wings to fly in the sky of success is what Presidium is best at doing and Ishaan’s achievement at this tender ages certainly proves that a student enters as a Presidian but leaves the school, a leader!
FELICITATING ACADEMIC ACHIEVERS AT ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARDS
Colin Powell once said, “If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude”. Acknowledging such attitude and determination, Presidium Ashok Vihar, celebrated its time-honored tradition of nurturing and acknowledging young intellectuals in Academic Excellence Awards 2018. As our students take the world by storm and leave their mark in the field of education, we ensure to recognize and celebrate their intellectual prowess. The Academic Excellence 2017-18 was graced by the presence of the honourable Chairperson Mrs. Sudha Gupta, who inspired the students to dream bigger and achieve greater. The ceremony commenced with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony and was followed by scintillating performances. The students were honoured with shining trophies and certificates of recognition for their marvellous scores in examinations and 100% attendance. The closure of this ceremony was marked by a promise of bigger dreams and greater achievements.
STRONG VOICES SLOGANEER 'SAVE TIGERS' IN A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

Keeping this thought in mind, we conducted a special assembly on the topic ‘Save Tigers’ for our young leaders, where important facts about tigers were shared. The Presidians talked about the launch of the project ‘Save tiger’. They shared that these magnificent creatures will disappear off the face of the earth, leaving behind only photographs and descriptions for the coming generations to see if we will not join hands to save them. They also presented a short skit portraying the pitiful life of a tiger, who is being killed for no reason. The mesmerising performances not only made the assembly colourful but also delivered the message to preserve our natural resources.
INTERCLASS SCIENCE QUIZ EXPOSES PRESIDIANS A NEW WAY OF THINKING
'Science is the engine of prosperity.'
Ever since the industrial revolution, scientific research has led to plethora of inventions that have expedited economic development all over the world. To make students realise the importance of science in day to day life, Presidium Ashok Vihar organised a 'Science Quiz' for the students of grade 4 and 5. Conducted in the classrooms, the format of the quiz entailed three rounds i.e content based, visual and rapid fire respectively. The rapid fire round was a thrilling round, highly enjoyed by the students. All the teams participated actively with full zeal. The quiz instilled positive competition and a spirit to learn in all the students while ensuring that they learn through all possible ways, not just through books and classroom teaching.

The classrooms of Presidium School, Ashok Vihar turned into a stage for the enthusiastic Presidians as they donned different roles and characters with great flair and precision for the Inter Club Skit Competition. The competition provided a platform to the budding Presidians to express themselves in an innovative manner. Dressed up in vibrant and colourful attires, the students performed confidently using different props. This experience was a powerful medium of developing a student's personality in a holistic manner along with boosting their confidence which is a prerequisite in today's world. It was heartening to see the young stars giving voice to their talents, aiming to become better with each experience.
FOOD FEST: SAVORING THE COLOURFUL DIVERSITY OF INDIA
‘We can win people’s heart through their stomach.’
In an attempt to win the hearts of their teachers and peers, the students of grade 3, showcased the culinary delicacies from various states of India, in the recently organized ‘Food Fest’. Starting from mouth-watering ‘lassi’ and ‘chole bhature’ from Punjab to ‘dosa’ and coconut water from Kerala, the food fest had an impressive array of delicacies. It finely exhibited their understanding of regional food as they displayed it with the respective menu cards. The young Presidians enthralled everyone with their vivid chef caps and regional costumes. Additionally, they welcomed everyone in the traditional manner which further added to the traditional aura. It was truly an experience of its own kind packed with energy and vigor of the students that made the food fest a day worth remembering.
A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY: PROMOTING THE IDEA OF HEALTHY LIVING WITH
‘Happiness is... happy, healthy, and aware children.’
In order to promote the idea of being healthy, students of grade Nursery recently conducted an assembly where they shared beautiful thoughts and tips related to healthy living. The tiny tots of Presidium danced on the rhyme ‘brush your teeth’ which was an awe-inspiring experience. Students shared their views on the need to follow a healthy lifestyle and mesmerized everyone. It gave us immense pleasure to watch young Presidians understand the ways in which healthy living can be achieved and how it will be helpful in the long run.
PRESIDIANS PRESENTED AN INSPIRING ASSEMBLY ON ‘BEING RESPECTFUL’

The continuous effort of Presidium to produce leaders of the future is yet again on display with a mesmerizing assembly on ‘Being Respectful’. The young students of Presidium confidently performed a skit on this topic and emphasized the importance of respecting everyone including people, environment, and animals. This skit was preceded by a beautiful song performance on ‘Respect’. The students were overjoyed listening to the song and went back humming to its tunes.
