PRESIDIANS HONOUR THE SPORTS HEROES ON NATIONAL SPORTS DAY
‘Winning is not everything but the effort to win is’.
Sports inculcates this habit of putting efforts and never giving up. Therefore, to imbibe the values of sports and to honour the sports heroes of our country, Presidium Ashok Vihar conducted a special assembly on the occasion of National Sports Day which also celebrates the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand on August 29. Students expressed their feelings about the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand Singh by sharing his achievements. Students also talked about sports personalities like Sachin Tendulkar, Saina Nehwal and Milkha Singh. The assembly concluded with a dance performance on ‘Chak de India’ conveying the importance of sports in our lives.

Presidium Ashok Vihar prides itself in providing enriching experiences to its students. Presidians’ recent visit to the Vice President’s residence on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan is an experience that they would cherish for life. The moment was made even more special when the students presented saplings and tied rakhis on the wrist of Shri Venkaiah Naidu, the Honourable Vice President of India. Presidians pledged to extend the spirit of the festival by spreading the message of secular solidarity and universal brotherhood. Shri Naidu blessed the students and his honest sharing, witty anecdotes and self-effacing political ideology filled the students with the zest to emerge as future leaders and serve their country.
CELEBRATING RAKHI WITH SHRI ARVIND KEJRIWAL, CM OF DELHI
Rakhi is a sacred thread embellished with sister's love and affection for her brother.
On the day of Raksha Bandhan, students of Presidium, Ashok Vihar received an opportunity to tie this frangible thread of rakhi on the wrist of the honourable Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, who welcomed them with unmatchable warmth. In his addressal, he mentioned that the trivia of Raksha Bandhan is to bring people together just like the true spirit of all other Indian festivals. The students were honoured to be blessed by the CM on such a special day.
MATHAROO SIR CELEBRATES RAKSHA BANDHAN WITH YOUNG PRESIDIANS
Raksha Bandhan is one of the most endearing ways of celebrating sibling love. Presidium, Ashok Vihar celebrated this auspicious festival in the presence of the honourable Chairman, Mr G. S. Matharoo. The festive spirit reverberated in the premises as the students expressed their affection for this lovable bond. They also interacted with Matharoo Sir and tied colourful rakhis on his wrist. The event ended with a promise of love, compassion and trust to create a more empathetic and beautiful world.
PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE EID: A CELEBRATION OF FAITH AND LOYALTY!
‘Sacrifice is giving up something that matters for something that matters more.’
On the festival of sacrifice ‘Eid-ul-Zuha’, the students of grade 6 at Presidium Ashok Vihar were acquainted with the story of Prophet Ibrahim's faith in Allah. The students celebrated the festival with great enthusiasm and glorified the sacrifice of Ibrahim through speeches and performing a dramatized version of how a man’s faith was established in the powers of the Higher Being. The students effectively conveyed the message to give up one’s bounties in order to help those who are in need. Expressing the emotions of love and devotion for Almighty, the students rejoiced the day which culminated with a loud cheer of Eid Mubarak!
TESTING THE VOCABULARY OF PRESIDIANS IN A FUN SPELLATHON
In the time and age of auto-correct, spell check and texting, a Spell-Bee competition organised by Presidium Ashok Vihar for students of grades 6 to 8 came as a whiff of fresh air. The competition had six rounds - synonyms, homophones, homonyms, guess the word, visual round and audience round. The spelling wizards of Presidium could recognize the toughest of words with ease and confidence. It was a great learning experience for the participants that enriched their vocabulary in a fun way.
POSTER MAKING: SENSITIZING PRESIDIANS TOWARDS SOCIAL ISSUES
The art of Poster Making is the the art of discovering what you believe!
To bring out the creative expression of the students and also to gauge their awareness quotient, a Poster Making competition was organised by Presidium Ashok Vihar for the students of grade 4 and 5. The students displayed their artistic skills through an array of posters on topics like ‘Swachh Bharat’, ‘Save Ozone’ and ‘Women Safety’. The aim of this competition was to increase the students’ observational skills, response to thoughts, awareness and concern towards the global issues.

love, innocence and unadulterated humanity. Our students from grade 6 recently received the opportunity to visit India’s best special school and spend quality time with their special friends. The aura at the school was filled with warmth as the special students sweetly welcomed the Presidians. They also indulged in diverse fun activities with them. It was indeed a special moment which will be etched in their memory forever. This lifetime opportunity sensitized our students towards this noble initiative and also encouraged them do their bit as leaders of tomorrow.
YOUNG PATRIOTS CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH MATHAROO SIR

It was a day of grandeur and patriotic fervor as the students of Presidium Ashok Vihar celebrated the 72nd Independence Day in all its solemnity. To mark the importance of this day, a grand celebration was held in the school and the occasion was graced by the dynamic and charismatic presence of honourable Chairman, Mr. G.S.Matharoo. The fiesta commenced with Mr.Matharoo’s unfurling of the tricolour. The tri coloured balloons released by Mr.Matharoo painted the ambience with patriotism. Sir in his address laid stress on the true meaning and essence of freedom. He urged the students to remember their glorious past and embrace their duties with pride and honour. He also encouraged them to live true to the school’s motto and emerge as future leaders. The cultural extravaganza included a sports and dance performance that enthralled the audience and the premises reverberated with the chants of “Vande Mataram”. The festivity concluded with a promise of a better and a brighter nation.
FUTURE FLAG BEARERS DELIBERATE AT PMUN 2018
It is rightly said that leadership is practiced not so much in words as in actions and attitudes. A true leader is the one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.
Keeping up with the vision to create and empower future leaders, a delegation of more than eighty students from Presidium School, Ashok Vihar participated in the PMUN 2018-19 held at Presidium School, Gurugram from 10th to 12th August 2018. The agenda for the PMUN 2018-19 was ‘Presidium for Youth Empowerment’ which aimed at realizing the immense potential in the youth to bring about positive changes for a better and brighter future. The young leaders worked closely amidst a vast spectrum of global issues, immersed in intense debates, discussions and deliberations to bring change and innovation into the world. The young delegates strived to reach for pragmatic solutions to diverse global issues and engaged themselves in enriching stimulations. The PMUN 2018 was truly an empowering experience for the young global citizens as it contributed to a better understanding of international challenges and how to solve them in a peaceful and respectable way to find mutually beneficial solutions.
